Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 3858 t ' ORDINANCE NO. 3858 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A SOUND SYSTEM FOR THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: Section 1 . That the City Council hereby waives the requirements of competitive bidding for a sound system for the downtown square for the reason that the requirements are not feasible or practical. The Convention and Visitor Development Center (the "Center") obtained written quotes from three area vendors concerning the purchase and installation of a sound system for the downtown square. Only one vendor, Ben Jack's Arkansas Music, submitted a quote that met the specifications that were requested. In error, the Center directed that the sound system be installed. Because the system has already been installed, to require that the sound system be competitively bid would cause unnecessary hardship to the vendor and to the public.
