HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3812 ORDINANCE NO. 3812 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF USED VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDERCOVER DRUG ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM AND ALLOWING THE EXISTING UNDERCOVER VEHICLES TO BE USED FOR TRADE-IN VALUE FOR REPLACEMENT VEHICLES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS : Section 1 . The City Council hereby waives the requirements of competitive bidding for purchase of used vehicles for the Police Department's Undercover Drug Enforcement Program for the reason that said requirements are not feasible or practical as used car lots will not hold cars for purchase for the amount of time that is required by the bid process. Section 2 . That the Police Department is hereby authorized to use the existing undercover vehicles for trade-in value for replacement vehicles. Section 3 . That the City Council hereby determines that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public health, safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
