AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
FORMAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE
OF OIL DISTRIBUTOR EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE
STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS:
Section 1 . That the City Council hereby waives the requirements of formal
competitive bidding for the purchase of oil distributor equipment for use in the Street
Maintenance Program for the reason that said requirements would prevent purchase of a unit
which will be available at a Public Auction on June 29, 1994. Therefore, it would not be
feasible or practical to take and award a formal competitive bid.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes a representative of the Fleet
Operations Division or Street Maintenance Division to approve purchase of this equipment "on
the spot" at a total cost not to exceed $60,000.00.
Section 3 . The total number of vehicles involved in this purchase will not exceed
one ( 1) unit.
Section 4. This bid waiver will expire on July 1 , 1994.
