HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 3760 ORDINANCE NO. 3760 AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF FORMAL COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF USED OVER THE ROAD TRACTOR EQUIPRMENT FOR USE IN THE STREET MAINTENANCE AND SOLID WASTE PROGRAMS . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS : Section 1 . The City Council hereby waives the requirements of formal competitive bidding for the purchase of used over the road tractor equipment for use in the Street Maintenance and Solid Waste Programs for the reason that said requirements are neither practical nor feasible as dealers will not hold used equipment for the time necessary to take and award formal competitive bids. Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to approve purchase of used equipment "on the spot" at a total cost not to exceed $90,000.00, with such approval being based upon favorable recommendation of a purchase committee consisting of the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and the Administrative Services Director, as well as the Acquisition, Distribution and Retention Committee. Section 3 . The total number of vehicles involved in this purchase will be a maximum of three (3) units. PASSED AND APPROVED this 1st day of February 1994.
