FOR USE IN THE DOWNTOWN/DICKSON STREET TOURIST
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . The City Council hereby waives the requirement of formal competitive
bidding for the purchase of used multi passenger bus equipment for use in the
Downtown/Dickson Street Tourist Transportation Program for the reason that said requirements
are neither practical nor feasible as Dealers will not hold used vehicles for the time necessary to
take and award formal competitive bids.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to approve the purchase of
a total of 2 used bus units, "on the spot" , with a capacity range of 18 to 28 passengers at a total
cost not to exceed $70,000.00, with such approval being based upon favorable recommendation
of a purchase committee consisting of the Fleet Maintenance Superintendent, Fleet Maintenance
Supervisor and the Administrative Services Director, as well as the Acquisition, Distribution and
Recycling Committee.
