AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 158 .37 OF THE
FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADD
SUBSECTION (A)(3), AND AMENDING SECTION 97.088 TO
ALLOW THE USE OF SIGNS ON BASEBALL/SOFTBALL
FENCES AND SCOREBOARDS IN CITY PARKS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 158 .37 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances shall be
amended to add subsection (A)(3) to read as follows:
§ 158.37 PLACING SIGNS ON PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PROPERTY.
(A) Placing signs on public property.
(3) Signs may be permitted on baseball/softball fences and
scoreboards in City Parks as provided for in §97 .088.
Section 2. That §97 .088 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances shall be repealed and
the followed inserted in its stead:
§97.088 SIGNS PROHIBITED
(A) No person in a park shall paste, glue, tack, or otherwise post any
sign, placards, advertisement, or inscription whatsoever, nor shall any person
erect or cause to be erected any sign whatsoever on any public lands or highways
or roads adjacent to a park, except as set forth hereinbelow.
(B) Signs may be permitted on softball/baseball fences and scoreboards
in City Parks. The Parks and Recreation Board shall provide rules and
regulations for the placement, removal, size, number, quality, etc. of such signs,
and the same rules and regulations shall be administered by the Parks and
Recreation Director or his/her duly authorized representative.
