WHEREAS , the Citizens of Fayetteville , Arkansas , on May 26 , 1992 , voted to reorganize under the Aldermanic ( Mayor/Council ) form of government ; and WHEREAS , the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances ; rules , regulations , policies and proceedures of all boards , committies , and commissions are presently written to reflect the City Manager form of government ; and WHEREAS , to accomplish a smooth transition , various changes are necessary in the Code to provide authority whereby the City may function efficiently until the new Council has an opportunity to evaluate other ordinance changes . NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 . All references to City Manager which are contained in the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances , and any and all rules , regulation , policies , and/or proceedures of all boards , committees and commissions shall be replaced with "Mayor " . Section 2 . All references to Board of Directors which are contained in the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances , and any. and all rules , regulations , policies , and/or procedures of all boards , committees and commissions shall be replaced with " Council " .
