That Chapter 50 , Section 50 . 01 , shall be r amended to add : M�q GENERAL PROVISIONS V CHAPTER 50 : GARBAGE AND TRASH § 50 . 01 DEFINITIONS . CURBSIDE . The edge of the public roadway directly in front of a residence . On corner lots curbside may be construed as the edge of the roadway directly alongside of the residence . In areas where garbage and trash collection is provided along alleys , curbside shall refer to the edge of the pavement of said alley . In either case , placement shall be no more than six ( 6 ) feet from the public roadway . Garbage and trash placed at curbside must not impede the flow of traffic on the roadway or public sidewalk in any way . EXERTION TO CURBSIDE . Exemption to the mandatory curbside placement of garbage and trash will be granted to persons who are disabled to the extent that they cannot reasonably meet the curbside requirement , and that have no one residing on premises greater than twelve ( 12 ) years of age that can meet the requirement for them . DISPOSABLE BAG . A bag constructed of watertight , leakproof plastic or paper material , of appropriate strength and having a capacity of no more than fifty ( 50 ) gallons for yardwaste and thirty-two ( 32 ) gallons for all other municipal solid wastes . Section 2 , That Chapter 50 , Section 50 . 20 ( B ) shall be amended to read as follows : gg ��++ pp ��++ COLLECTION PROCEDURE LIRR1446PAGEp4U § 50 . 20 CONTAINER , RECEPTACLE SPECIFICATIONS . ( B ) The location of containers . The required containers for garbage and trash shall be placed at a single collection point within six ( 6 ) feet of the curb , street or alley line , where applicable , by 6 : 00 a . m . on mornings regularly scheduled for trash and garbage collection , provided however , that garbage and trash shall not be placed at the curb , street , or alley more than twelve ( 12 ) hours before regular pick-up . Alternate collection points may be specified at the discretion of the city . Residents who wish to apply for an exemption to this requirement may contact the Solid Waste Division for an application , Final determination of exempt status will be made by the Public Works Director or his designated representative , Section 3 . That Chapter 50 , Section 50 , 20 shall be amended to add : Use of a disposable bag , as defined herein , is considered acceptable for use in the disposal of yard waste and municipal solid waste .
