WHEREAS , A . C . A . § 14-52-107 provides that in the case of police officers , sick leave if unused , shall accumulate to maximum of sixty ( 60 ) days unless the city , by ordinance authorizes the accumulation of a greater amount , in no event to exceed a maximum accumulation of 90 days ; and WHEREAS , A . C . A . § 14-52- 107 further provides that in the case of police officers , payment for unused sick leave upon retirement or death shall not exceed 60 days salary unless the city , by ordinance , authorizes a greater amount but in no event to exceed 90 days salary ; and WHEREAS , A . C . A . § 14 -53 -108 provides that in the case of fire fighters , sick leave if unused , shall accumulate to a maximum of 60 days unless the city , by ordinance , authorizes the accumulation of a greater amount , in no event to exceed a maximum accumulation of 90 days ; and WHEREAS , A . C . A . § 14 -53 - 108 further provides that , in the case of firefighters , payment for unused sick leave upon retirement or death shall not exceed three ( 3 ) months salary unless the city , by ordinance , authorizes a greater amount , but in no event to exceed 4 'k months salary . NOW THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 . Police Officers Sick Leave : ( a ) The City of Fayetteville , Arkansas authorizes a maximum accrual of 90 days of unused sick leave for police officers . ( b ) The City of Fayetteville , Arkansas authorizes the payment of unused sick leave upon retirement or death of up to a maximum amount of 90 days salary for police officers . ( c ) The City of Fayetteville , Arkansas authorizes the payment for unused sick leave upon other termination up to a maximum amount of 60 days salary for police officers . Section 2 . Firefighter ' s Sick Leave : ( a ) The City of Fayetteville , Arkansas authorizes a maximum accrual of 90 days ( shifts ) of unused sick leave for firefighters .
