AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF USED
VEHICLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT UNDERCOVER
DRUG ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . The Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for purchase of used vehicles
for the Police Department ' s Drug Enforcement Program during the
next twelve months for the reason that said requirements are not
feasible or practical as used car lots will not hold cars for
purchase for the amount of time that is required by the bid
process .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval . i .
