AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
SPECIALIZED RADIO EQUIPMENT .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETPEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirement of competitive bidding for one year for the purchase
of radio equipment from Motorola Incorporated , said bidding
requirements are not feasible in light of the fact that only one
supplier is capable of meeting the specifications required .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the City of Fayetteville is in immediate need of additional radio
equipment and hereby determines that the immediate passage of this
ordinance is necessary for the purchase of such equipment .
Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public welfare shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
PASSED AND APPROVED this 18th day of July , 1989 .
