AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A NEW
ENGINE FOR A 1985 INTERNATIONAL TRUCK USED BY
THE SANITATION DIVISION .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . The Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of a new
engine for a 1985 International truck used by the Sanitation
Division for the reason that said requirements are not practical
as the existing engine has failed and needs to be replaced
immediately .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the
purchase of a new engine for a 1985 International truck from
Culver Truck Sales of Greenland , Arkansas , at a total cost of
$ 3 , 250 . 00 .
Section 3 , The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the immediate purchase of a new engine for a 1985 International
truck is necessary for the City to provide efficient sanitation
services and hereby determines that the provision of efficient
sanitation services is essential to the public health , safety and
welfare . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passaqe and approval .
