ORDINANCE NO . 3357 MO&VoD
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLERS ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of two ( 2 )
five phase traffic controllers in eight phase cabinets for the
reason that said requirements are not practical because there is
only one supplier meeting bid specifications .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes
the purchase of two ( 2 ) Tranyst five phase controllers in eight
phase cabinets from Pinkley Sales Co . of Oklahoma City , Oklahoma
at a price of $ 4 , 500 . 00 .
Section 3 . That the Board of Directors hereby determines
that the immediate installation of two traffic signal controllers
is needed for traffic safety and hereby determines that the
immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary for said instal-
lation . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval .
