AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX C , Article III , 1CROFIL1GIEf� ,
SECTION A ( 1' ) ( h ) OF THE FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF
ORDINANCES TO PRESCRIBE MAXIMUM SPACING
DISTANCES FOR THE INSTALLATION OF FIRE
HYDRANTS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Appendix C . Article III , Section A ( 1 ) ( h )
of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by adding
the following paragraph :
Fire hydrants for single family dwellings and duplexes
shall be installed so that ( 1 ) the distance between two
consecutive fire hydrants does not exceed 8001 , and ( 2 )
no lot is more than 400 ' from a fire hydrant . Fire
hydrants for apartment complexes , commercial structures ,
and industrial structures shall be installed so that the
distance between two consecutive fire hydrants does not
exceed 6001 ; provided , the Fire Chief shall have the
authority to require additional fire hydrants upon a
determination that such additional fire hydrants are
necessary to provide adequate fire protection . The Fire
Chief shall develop written criteria to be applied in
determining whether additional fire hydrants shall be
required .
