AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17BCl-%gFJ�'�R AR
FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO REGUi�A
THE DISPLAY OF WINDBLOWN SIGNS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
N � Section 1 . That § 17B- 2 of the . . ..Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by adding the : following :
\ Windblown Sign . Any flag . ' pennant ; - balloon , spinner , or
blimp .
Company Flag . A flag identifying a business or an organiza-
tion where the flag is displayed .
;y Section 2 . That § 17B - 7 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by adding paragraph ( k ) to read as
follows :
( k ) Windblown Signs Prohibited . It shall be unlawful for
�+ any person to display any windblown sign ; provided , windblown
signs may be displayed on a lot , at a shopping center , or at
a mall one time per year for a period not to exceed 72 hours
if a temporary sign permit is first obtained from the
building inspector upon payment of a $ 10 . 00 fee ; provided
further , one company flag shall be permitted on a lot , at a
shopping center , or at a mall .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
effective sign regulation is essential to the public health ,
safety and welfare and hereby determines that the immediate
passage of this ordinance is necessary for effective sign regula -
tion . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and this
ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from an after its
passage and approval .
