AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF
COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF
AUTOMATIC DOORS FOR THE HANDICAP ENTRANCE OF
THE CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waive the
requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of automatic

doors for the handicap entrance of the City Administration
Building for the reason that said requirements are not feasible
U because the City is requiring the supplier to provide local
y� maintenance service for said doors .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby determines
that the handicap entrance of the City Administration Building is
in need of automatic doors so that public access to City officials
and employees is readily available to all residents ; that ready
accessability of City officials and employees to all residents is
Ly essential to the efficient administration of City government ; and
that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary to
authorize the purchase of said doors . Therefore , an emergency is
hereby declared to exist , and this ordinance being necessary for
the public health , safety and welfare shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval .
PASSED AND APPROVED this 19 day of May , 1987 .
