ORDINANCE N0, 1169
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE
BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF OFFICE FURNITURE FOR
THE CITY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS :

Section . l . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of office furniture
for the City Administration Building because said requirements are
not feasible in view of the need to use specific suppliers so that
new furniture will match existing furniture .
Section . 2 . The. Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purchase
of additional furniture for Rooms 303 , 3059 307 , 308 , 3099 316 , 317 ,
and 318 in the City Administration Building at a total price not to
exceed $ 16 , 500, with said furniture to be selected by the City 's interior
decorating consultant , Marynm Bassett .
Section . 3. The Board of Directors hereby determines that
additional furniture is needed in the City Administration Building
for the efficient administration of city government and that the immediate
passage of this ordinance is necessary for the purchase of said furniture .
Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist , and this ordinance
being necessary for the public welfare , shall be in full force and
effect , from and after its passage and approval .
PASSED AND APPROVED this 18th day of February , 1986 .
