AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF (24 COUNTY
BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATI �tJF,�FYFR qR
DRIVE ASSEMBLY FOR A FINAL CLARIFIER AT THE POLLUTE R�
CONTROL PLANT ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY TAE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAIETTEVILLE,
ARKANSAS:
� \ Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase and installation
of a drive assembly for a final clarifier at the Pollution Control
` Plant for the reason that said requirements are not practical as there
is only one supplier with the necessary expertise to properly install
said equipment .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby accepts the
proposal of TRESCO to install a drive assembly in a final clarifier
at the Pollution Control Plant for a total price of $14 , 996 . 00 with
the existing drive assembly to be taken as a trade-in at said price .
Section 3 . That the Board of Directors hereby determines
that the drive assembly for a final clarifier at the Pollution Control
Plant is in immediate need of replacement ; that the installation of
a replacement drive assembly for the final clarifier is necessary
for the proper operation of the Pollution Control Plant ; and , proper
operation of the Pollution Control Plant is essential to the public
health , safety and welfare . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared
to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public health ,
safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after
its passage and approval .
