Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 3136 FILED FOR RECORD X85 OCT 25 PIS 3 21 WASHI; CT04R1 COUNTY ARALMA ' DDMIICCROFI 3LA- CIRCUIT C ERK R AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF HEAVY DUTY SLAB TYPE RINGS AND LIDS FOR CURB INLET AND JUNCTION BOX CONSTRUCTION , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTS OF THE CITY OF FAYMWILIE, ARKANSAS: Section 1 , That the Board of Directors hereby waives the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of heavy duty slab type rings and lids for curb inlet and junction box construction for the reason that said requirements are not practical as there is only one supplier . This waiver shall be effective for one year from the effective date of this ordinance and shall be retroactive to May 22 , 1985 . Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purchase of heavy duty slab type rings and lids for curb inlet and junction box construction on an as-needed basis from Neenah Foundry . Section 3 . That the Board of Directors hereby determines that the City Street Department is in immediate need of heavy duty slab type rings and lids for curb inlet and junction box construction , that such rings and lids are necessary to maintain the City ' s streets in a safe condition , and that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary for the safe maintenance of City streets . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
