AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE E n�a
BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF A DICTATION SYSTEM AND P�//�
MICROFICHE SYSTEM .

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF T CPTY F
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : IFCU/ C ak a
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of
a dictation system and microfiche system for the reason
that said requirements are not practical because there is
only one manufacturer producing a dictation system with all
desired features and only one manufacturer of the desired
microfiche system .
o Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes
V�J the purchase of a Lanier Messenger Recorder/Transcriber
Dictation System from Lanier Business Products Inc . at a
total purchase price of $ 3 , 942 . 72 in accordance with the price
quotation attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A " and made a
Dart hereof .
Section 3 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes
the purchase of a Microfiche System from Bell & Howell for a
total sum of $ 44 , 049 . 28 in accordance with the price quotation
attached hereto and marked Exhibit " B " and made a part hereof .
Section 4 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the City�Fayetteville is in immediate need of a dictation
system and microfiche system to enable the efficient adminis-
tration of city government ; that efficient administration
of city government is essential to the public welfare ; and
that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary for
the efficient administration of city government . Therefore
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary for the public welfare shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval .
