That Section 8 - 1 of the Fayettevill LO, �d " LI of Or finances is hereby amended by amending the firstetQ�ice : in said section to read as follows : The Fayetteville Board of Directors hereby adopts by reference thereto the provisions set forth in the 1984 edition of the " National Electrical Code " issued by the National Fire Protection Association except such portions of such code as are deleted , modified or amended by this chapter . Section 2 . That Section 8 - 30 . 1 ( 2 ) of the Fayetteville Code o Or finances is hereby amended to read as follows : ( 2 ) All lights shall be controlled by switches approved by the National Electrical Code . Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that t eTi iimmeUiate adoption of the 1984 National Electrical Code is necessary to adequately protect the public from electrical and fire hazards and hereby determines that the immediate passage of this ordinance is to provide such pro - tection . Therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
