Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 2969 ORDINANCE NO . 2969 MICROFI ASA' AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF HYDRATED LIME FOR THE POLLUTION CONTROL PLANT . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of hydrated lime for the Pollution Control Plant for the reason that said requirements are not practical as there are only two suppliers and the City has taken written quotations from J said suppliers . �. Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purr cid ase of hydrated lime from Rangaire Corporation of Batesville , Arkansas , on an as needed basis for the Pollution Control Plant in accordance with the bid quotation attached hereto , marked Exhibit A and made a part hereof . Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that tt ei�l—ut-ion Control Plant is in immediate need of hydrated lime ; that hydrated lime is necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the Pollution Control Plant ; and , that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary to authorize the purchase of hydrated lime for the safe and efficient operation of the Pollution Control Plant . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
