Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 2961 1 ORDINANCE NO . . 2961 MICROFILMED AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR TRENCHING AT DRAKE FIELD TO PROVIDE NEW TELEPHONE SERVICES TO THE EAST SIDE OF THE FAYETTEVILLE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 : That the Board of Directors hereby waives the requirements nts of competitive bidding for trenching at Drake Field to provide new telephone services to the east side of the Fayetteville Municipal Airport for the reason that said requirements are not practical and there is an immediate need for said trenching to provide for the safe operation of the Municipal Airport . Section 2 : The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor an City Clerk to execute a contract for said trenching services with Fayette Tree and Trench , Inc . at a total contract price of $ 6 , 328 . 50 . Section 3 : The Board of Directors hereby determines that t erre Tis an immediate need for trenching at Drake Field to provide new telephone services to the east side of the Fayetteville Municipal Airport , which services are needed to provide for the safe operation of said airport '; and , the " Board of Directors hereby determines that_ the. immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary to provide for said trenching . Therefore , an emergency ' is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the public safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
