FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO CLARIFY THE .
PROHIBITION AGAINST REVOLVING , ROTATING , OR'
MOVING SIGNS PRESCRIBED THEREBY . - CLE ,4Y
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 17B - 7 ( j ) of the Fayetteville
Code o Or inances is hereby amended to read as follows :
( j ) Revolving , rotating , or moving signs prohibited .
It shall be unlawful for any person to erect or to
continue using any sign the exterior of which revolves ,
T� rotates or otherwise moves , in whole , or in part .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
revolving , rotating , or moving signs are detrimental to traffic
safety and to the scenic beauty of the city ; that such signs
should be prohibited in order to promote traffic safety and
preserve the scenic beauty of the city ; and that the immediate
passage of this ordinance is necessary to prohibit such signs .
Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval .
PASSED AND APPROVED this 20th day of September 1983 .
