Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 2929 ORDINANCE NO MICROFIMU AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF POLYMERS TO TEST THEIR APPLICABILITY IN DEWATERING SLUDGE AT THE CITY ' S POLLUTION CONTROL PLANT . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the requireme� competitive bidding for the purchase of polymers for the purpose of testing the applicability of said polymers in dewatering sludge at the City ' s pollution control plant . The requirements of competitive bidding are waived because said requirements are not feasible for the reason that , without prior testing , the City cannot determine which polymers and what dosage requirements must be specified to dewater sludge at the pollution control plant . Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purchase o�polymers from NALCO Chemical Company for $ 2 , 649 . 74 and the purchase of polymers from Calgon Corporation for $ 3 , 081 . 00 in accordance with the purchase requisitions attached hereto , marked Exhibits A and B and made a part hereof . Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that the dewatering of sludge at the City ' s pollution control plant is essential to the public health , safety and welfare and hereby determines that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary to provide for the dewatering of sludge at said pollution control plant .
