AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS /OF, , COMPETITIVE
BIDDING FOR THE REPAIR OF DAMAGE TO ROR7H COLLEGE{
AVENUE ( U . S , HIGHWAY 71. NORTH ) NEAR V 4 �iB01JL$�l f `IR
CAUSED BY A BREAK IN A CITY WATER MAI CLERK
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the
requirements of competitive bidding for the repair of North College
Avenue ( U . S . Highway 71 North ) near Villa Boulevard and for the
repair of a private asphalt drive in said area caused by a break
in a city water main . Said requirements are waived for the reason
that they are not practical because the Arkansas Highway Department
had advised the City to repair said highway immediately .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes an
expenditure not to exceed $4 , 500 . 00 for the aforesaid repairs .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that the
aforesaid repairs to U . S . Highway 71 North are essential to the
public health , safety and welfare and hereby determines that the
immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary to make said
repairs . Therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare , shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval .
