FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
C Section 1 . That Section 21 - 26 (b ) of the Fayetteville
Code 37UTHnances is hereby amended to read as follows :
(b ) Monthly Sewer Rates ( Schedule ) . The following
monthly rates are hereby fixed as rates to be charged
for sewer services , which rates the Board of Directors
hereby declares to be reasonable and necessary minimum
rates to be charged :
Rate per 1000 Gallons
Inside City Limits
( 1 ) For the first 10 , 000 gallons of water
consumption per month 1 . 73
( 2 ) For the next 290 , 000 gallons of water
consumption per month 1 . 07
( 3 ) For all over 300 , 000 gallons of water
consumption per month 0 . 66
( 4) The rate of ten dollars and sixty - eight cents
( $ 10 . 68 ) per month shall be charged to sewer
customers whose water is not furnished by the
waterworks system of the City .
Section 2 . That Sec . 21 - 26 ( c ) of the Fayetteville Code
of Or finances is hereby amended by increasing the monthly
sewer service charge per customer to $ 1 . 32 per bill and by
increasing the minimum monthly charge to $ 3 . 05 .
Section 3 . That Sec . 19 - 26 ( f) of the Fayetteville Code
of Or finances is hereby amended by increasing the monthly
wholesale sewage rate for the cities of Greenland and Farmington
to $ 1 . 07 per 1 , 000 gallons of water metered to each residential
and commercial premises by increasing the system maintenance
and improvements charged for said cities to $0 . 17 per 1 , 000
gallons , and by increasing the monthly wholesale sewage rate
for the City of Elkins to $ 0 . 82 per 1000 gallons of sewage
received by the City of Fayetteville from the City of Elkins .

Section 4 . That Sec . 19 - 26 (g) of the Fayetteville Code
of Or finances is hereby amended by increasing the monthly
sewer rate for customers located outside the city limits
to $ 2 . 22 per 1000 gallons .
Section 5 . That Section 21 - 26 . 1 of the Fayetteville
Code o r finances is hereby amended by increasing the unit
charge for suspended solids to 0 . 1047 in dollars per pound
and by increasing the unit charge for BOD to 0 . 0220 in dollars
per pound .
Section 6 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the City p sent sewer rates do not generate sufficient
revenues to enable the City to provide adequate public sewer
services ; that the provision of adequate sewer services is
essential to the public welfare ; and , that the immediate
passage of this ordinance is necessary to insure the provision
of adequate public sewer services . Therefore , an emergency
is hereby declared to exist , and this ordinance , being
necessary for the public health , safety and welfare , shall be
in full force and effect on June 1 , 1983 .
