J AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTSCOF��b1bEThITIVE
BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN AUTOMOBILE FOR THE
CHIEF OF POLICE . /
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase of
an automobile for the Chief of Police for the reason that
said requirements are not practical because the Chief of
Police is in immediate need of a new automobile .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes
the purc— ami se of a 1983 Caprice Classic four - door automobile
for the Chief of Police from Nelms Chevrolet at a price of
$ 10 , 265 in accordance with the proposal attached hereto ,
marked Exhibit "A" , and made a part hereof .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that t�ef of Police is in immediate need of a new
automobile ; that the immediate purchase of a new automobile
for the Chief of Police is essential to the provision of
adequate police service to the residents of the City ; and
that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary
to insure the provision of adequate police protection to
the residents of the City . Therefore , an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary
for the public safety and welfare shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval .
