AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETa W, , 60UOy
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 7 , 593 GALLONS OF UNLEAD bj�41F�iY
GASOLINE FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirement of competitive bids for the purchase of
7 , 593 gallons of unleaded gasoline for the police department
for the reason that said requirements are not feasible
because no vendors would provide a guaranteed price .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby ratifies
the awa�f'_t_he bid for said gasoline to Northwest Oil
Company at a price of $ 1 . 08 per gallon FOB the Police Department
tank . //

SUBJECT : Ordinance waiving bids for 7 , 593 gallons of gas
DATE : November 16 , 1982
We need an ordinance waiving competitive bids for the purchase of 7 , 593
gallons of unleaded gasoline for the 10 , 000 gallon tank for the Police
Department .
Inviting sealed bids was not feasible since we had to accept the ' price
in effect at the time of shipment .
Attached is a tabulation of telephone quotations received on November
12 , 1982 for delivery no later than Monday , November 15 , 1982 . I awarded
the bid to Northwest Oil Company , the low bidder at $1 . 08 per gallon FOB
our tank .
Although bids were asked for 7 , 700 gallons , the tanker would only hold
7 , 593 gallons .
It is also requested that the Board ratify the bid award and spread this
action upon the minutes .
The total purchase price was $8 , 200 . 44 .
