AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITI +F�y%if4rj%F
BIDDING FOR THE SALE OF A USED POLICE CAR TO THE r
WASHINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF ' S OFFICE. FOR $ 3 , 000 . 00 .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requi— rests of competitive bidding for the sale of a
used police car , a 1981 four - door Chevrolet Impala Sedan
bearing motor vehicle no . 1G1AL69L8BJ249292 , to the
J Washington County Sheriff ' s Office for the sum of $ 3 , 000 . 00
for the reason that said requirements are not practical
because no other bidder would use said vehicle to provide
C law enforcement services benefiting the citizens of the
City .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that t e Was ington County Sheriff ' s Office has offered to
purchase the aforesaid vehicle at a reasonable price and
to use said vehicle to provide law enforcement services
to the citizens of the County and of the City ; that no
other potential bidder would so use said vehicle ; that the
provision of law enforcement services is essential to the
public safety and welfare ; and that the immediate passage
of this ordinance is necessary to enable the immediate sale
of said vehicle to the Washington County Sheriff ' s Office .
Therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public safety and welfare
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval .
