ORDINANCE NO .
7
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE
BIDDING TO INSTALL ELECTRICAL AND TELEPHONE CONDUIT
AND WIRING TO THE NEW INTERIM CITY HALL . J
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF ✓
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requi— rests of competitive bidding for the installation
of electrical and telephone conduit for the new interim City
Hall for the reason that said requirements are not practicable
because said conduit must be installed immediately to insure
the uninterrupted operation of essential governmental functions .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby ratifies the
action oF-'tTFe—personnel officer in issuing a purchase order
to Fayette Tree & Trench , Inc . for the necessary trenching
and backfilling work at a lump sum price of $4 , 000 . 00 in
accordance with the proposal attached hereto , marked Exhibit "A" ,
and made a part hereof .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby awards the
contract installation of said conduit and wiring at
a lump sum price of $4 , 722 . 00 in accordance with the proposal
attached hereto , marked Exhibit "B " , and made a part hereof .
Section 4 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the imme�ciate installation of electrical and telephone conduit
to the new interim City Hall is necessary to insure uninterrupted
operation of essential governmental services . Therefore ,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary for the public safety and welfare shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval .
