AN ORDINANCE 14AIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COMPETITIVE C�FRkFRQRk
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO PATROL VEHICLES FOR USE
BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT . /
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF ✓
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirement of competitive bids for the purchase of two
patrol vehicles for the Fire Department ; the Board of Directors
finds that said bid requirements are not practical because
( 1 ) the Fire Department is in immediate need of said vehicles ,
J ( 2 ) said vehicles can be obtained from Lewis Ford Sales , Inc .
under fleet pricing , whereas other suppliers require an order
CJ of at least five vehicles for fleet pricing ; ( 3 ) the City
would have to wait until late fall to advertise for said
vehicles because of a pending cutoff in order acceptance
by manufacturers , and ( 4 ) the City anticipates price increases
between now and September when 1983 prices can be obtained .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby authorizes
the purc�seoof said two patrol vehicles for the Fire Depart -
ment from Lewis Ford Sales , Inc . under the City ' s most recent
police vehicle bid at a price per vehicle of $ 9 , 399 . 00 .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that theFireDepartment is in immediate need of two patrol
vehicles to . adequately safeguard the public health , safety ,
and welfare ; and that the passage of this ordinance is
necessary to enable immediate purchase of said vehicles .
Therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety
and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval . lli�
