AN ORDINANCE AMENDING § 17B - 7 ( h ) OF THE FAYETTEVILL11en/fF'9
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO CLARIFY THE PROHIBITION AGAINST
USING VEHICLES AS SIGNS .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That § 17B - 7 ( h ) of the Fayetteville Code
of Or inT ances is hereby amended to read as follows :
( h ) Use of Vehicle as Sign . It shall be unlawful to
use a vehicle or a trailer as a sign in circumvention
of this chapter .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that emotive regulation of signs is essential to the public
welfare ; that the City ' s Sign Ordinance does not effectively
regulate signs on vehicles ; that many persons are circumventing
the City ' s Sign Ordinance by placing signs on vehicles ; and
that the immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary
to effectively regulate signs on vehicles . Therefore , an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary for the public welfare shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval .
