ORDINANCE NO . 2 -75 (
AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE
BIDS FOR
THE TAPS . OF AN UNDERGROUND PIERCING TOOL
FOR W
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirements of competitive bids for the purchase of
one underground piercing tool for water taps for the reason
that said requirements are not practical because there is
only one supplier in the state .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes
v the purc—lase of one underground piercing tool from Rushing
& Mason Equipment Co . , Inc . , at Little Rock , Arkansas , at
a total price of $ 6 , 947 . 87 .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that t eland sewer department is in immediate need
of one underground piercing tool for water taps if the City
is to adequately provide water to local residents ; that adequate
provision of water to local residents is essential to the
public welfare ; and that the passage of this ordinance is
necessary to adequately provide water to local residents .
Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public welfare shall be
in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
