AN ORDINANCE AMENDING APPENDIX A ( ZONING ) TO THEEkT R
FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO AMEND AND DELETE
CERTAIN SIGN DEFINITIONS CONTAINED THEREIN .

V BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Article 6 , Section XXIV of Appendix A
to the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to
read as follows :
(XXIV) Unit 24 , Outdoor Advertising .
(A) Description .
Unit 24 consists of outdoor advertising signs
(billboards ) on which space is leased or rented by
the owners thereof to others for the purpose of
conveying a commercial or non - commercial message .
Outdoor advertising is set forth as a single use
unit in order to provide maximum control over the
location of outdoor advertising signs .
Section 2 . That Article 17 of Appendix A to the
FayetteviEe ode of Ordinances is hereby amended by deleting
the definitions of the terms " sign" , " signs , number and
surface area " , " sign , on - site " , " sign , off - site " .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines
that ti�teville Zoning Ordinance does not effectively
regulate outdoor advertising signs ; that effective regulation
of outdoor advertising signs is essential to the public welfare ;
and that the passage of this ordinance is necessary to effectively
regulate outdoor advertising signs . Therefore , an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary
for the public welfare shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval .
