AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENTS OF COPTS � WTOUNTY, ARK .
BIDDING FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE HALF- TON PICKUP T LMEYER
THE METER READING DIVISION OF THE FINANCE DEPARTMEN CLERK
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives
the requirements of competitive bidding for the purchase
of one ( 1 ) half- ton pickup truck for the meter reading division
of the Finance Department for the reason that said division
is in immediate need of such a pickup truck and competitive
bidding is impractical because dealers do not have 1982 speci-
fications or prices .
Section 2 . That the purchasing officer is hereby authorized
to purchase one ( 1 ) 1981 Ford F - 100 pickup , 300 cubic inches ,
6 cylinder with automatic transmission , 15 - inch radial tires ,
rear- step bumper , and medium blue in color from Lewis Ford
Sales of Fayetteville , Arkansas , at a total purchase price of Six
Thousand Four Hundred Sixteen Dollars ( $ 6 , 416 . 00 ) .
Section 3 . That Board of Directors hereby determines
that Meter reading division of the Finance Department
is in immediate need of one ( 1 ) half- ton pickup truck if
J the Finance Department is to effectively collect water , sewer ,
and sanitation charges ; that effective collection of such
charges is essential to the operation of the water and sewer
�j and sanitation departments and thus to the public welfare ;
and that the passage of this ordinance is necessary for the
effective collection of such charges . Therefore , an emergency
is hereby declared to exist in this ordinance , being necessary
for the public welfare , shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval .
