AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER SIX OF THE FAYETrz"U' LMEYE�
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE 19791ftCUiT CLERK
ARKANSAS RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENT
STANDARDS FOR NEW BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROMULGATED
BY THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY .
WHEREAS , Act 7 of 1981 provides that any municipality
where a building permit is required for new construction or
for renovation of existing structures shall adopt the first
edition of the 1979 Rules and Regulations for Energy Efficient
Standards for New Building Construction promulgated by the
Arkansas Department of Energy and shall be responsible for
insuring compliance with said rules and regulations .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Chapter 6 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by adding Section 6 - 34 . 1 to read
as follows :
Sec . 6 - 34 . 1 . 1979 Arkansas Rules and Regulations for
Energy Efficient Standards for New Building Construction
Promulgated by Arkansas Department of Energy Adopted .
pJ, There are hereby adopted by reference thereto the
V 1979 Arkansas Rules and Regulations for Energy Efficient
Standards for New Building Construction promulgated by
the Arkansas Department of Energy as fully as if set out
at length herein , and said rules and regulations shall be
controlling within the corporate limits of the City of
Fayetteville . A violation of any said rules and regulations
shall be punishable as provided in Sec . 1 - 5 of the Fayetteville
Code of Ordinances .
Section 2 . All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewit�r�ereby repealed .
