AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE FAYETTEVILLE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO ADOPT THE 1981 NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL CODE .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Sec . 8 - 1 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows :
Sec . 8- 1 . National Electrical Code adopted by
reference .
The Fayetteville Board of Directors hereby adopts by
reference thereto the provisions set forth in the 1981
edition of the " National Electrical Code " issued by
1 the National Fire Protection Association , except such
U portions of said code as are deleted , modified , or
v amended by this chapter . The provisions contained in
said code are hereby adopted and incorporated as
fully as if set out at length herein , and the provisions
thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits
of the City of Fayetteville .
Section 2 . That Sec . . 8 -1 . 1 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows :
Sec . 8 - 1 . 1 . Amendments , additions , and deletions .
The electrical code adopted by Sec . 8 - 1 is hereby changed
as set forth in the following paragraphs of this section :
(a ). Art . 210- 8 ( a ) ( 2 ) deleted . Art . 210 - 8 ( a ) ( 2 )
of the electrical code is hereby deleted .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the proper regulation of electrical wiring is essential to the
public health , safety and welfare ; and that the passage of this
ordinance is necessary to adequately regulate electrical wiring .
Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval .
