AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO . �2G
TO CLARIFY WATER AND SEWER TAP FEE REQUIREMENTS ,
v�J BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 , That the second paragraph in Sec . 1 of
Ordinance No . 2676 is hereby amended to read as follows :
* For any tap not covered by the above schedule the
Water and Sewer Superintendent shall make an estimate of
the cost of the proposed tap and the tap shall be made upon
payment of said estimate . In the event the actual cost of
installation is less than the estimate , the difference shall
be refunded to the person paying the tap fee , In the event the
actual cost of installation exceeds the estimate , the difference
shall be billed to the person paying the tap fee and he shall
be liable therefore .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the City ' s water and sewer tap fees should be increased to enable
the efficient operation of the City ' s water and sewer system ;
that efficient operation of the City ' s water and sewer system
is essential to the public welfare ; and that the passage of this
ordinance is necessary to increase the City ' s water and sewer
tap fees . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the public welfare shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval .
