Section 1 . That Section 21 - 25 ( a) of the Fayetteville
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows :
( a ) Monthly treated water rates ( Schedule A) .
The water usage of each customer shall be determined
each month by meter measurement and the amount per
1 , 000 gallons to be paid for water usage by each
customery shall be computed on the basis of the
following schedule of rates :

All bills under this schedule shall be computed
by adding the applicable meter service charge prescribed
by subsection (b ) to the amount determined to be due for
water usage under this schedule . The monthly minimum
charge shall be 1 . 01 for inside the city limits , $ 1 . 21
for outside the city limits , and $ 1 . 21 for the Growth
Area plus the applicable meter service charge . Sales
tax shall be added to the bill so computed .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the present monthly treated water rates do not provide

sufficient revenues for the City to provide adequate water
service ; that provision of adequate water service is essential
to the public health , safety and welfare ; and that the
immediate passage of this ordinance is necessary for the
City to generate sufficient revenues to provide adequate
water service . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared
to exist , and this ordinance being necessary for the public
health , safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval .
