AN ORDINANCE WAIVING THE REQUIREMENT OF COMPETITIVE BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE
OF ONE HPE-5000-V3 AIR COMPRESSOR FOR THE FAYETTEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE ,
ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the Board of Directors hereby waives the requirements of
competitive bids for the purchase of one HPE-5000-V3 air compressor for filling
Scott air packs for the Fayetteville Fire Department for the reason that the
Fire Department is in immediate need of said compressor and it is not feasible
to advertise for competitive bids .
Section 2 . That the Board of Directors hereby authorizes the purchase of
one HPE-5000-V3 air compressor from Les V . Hart Equipment Company of Oklahoma
City , Oklahoma for the sum of $ 3 , 799 . 00 .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that the Fayetteville
Fire Department is in immediate need of one HPE-5000-V3 air compressor for
filling Scott air packs ; that the purchase of said compressor is necessary for
the public safety ; and that the passage of this Ordinance is necessary to
accomplish said immediate purchase . Therefore , an emergency is hereby declared
to exist , and this Ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage .
