AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-21 OF THE FAYETTEVILLE
CODE OF ORDINANCES TO PROVIDE FOR OBTAINING A CITY ELECTRICIAN
LICENSE BY RECIPROCITY .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 8-21 of the Fayetteville Code of
Ordinances is hereby amended by adding paragraph ( 4) to read
as follows :
( 4) Reciprocity . An applicant for a journeyman or a master
electrician license who holds a current journeyman or master
electrician license issued by another city in the State of
Arkansas shall be issued a City of Fayetteville journeyman or
master electrician license without examination , provided :
(a) An electrical examining board has been duly appointed by
the local governing body of the city from w Lich the applicant
holds an electrician ' s license and said examining board has
established qualifications for an electrician ' s license which
are equivalent to the qualifications required by the City
of Fayetteville .
(b) A regular system of inspection of electrical construction
is maintained in such City to assure compliance with the National
Electrical Code and with such City ' s local electrical code .
( c) The installation of electrical material , devices ,
equipment or related items in such City conform to the require-
ments of the National Electric Code .
(d) Written verification of the issuance of an electrician ' s
license to the applicant has been given by the electrical
inspector , or his duly authorized agent , of such City to
the electrical inspector of the City of Fayetteville .
( e) The Electrical Examining Board of the City of Fayetteville
shall have the authority to revoke the license of any person
or firm who , through a course of conduct , does not display the
skill , knowledge or craftsmanship necessary to properly comply
with the City ' s local Electrical Code !
(f) The Electrical Examining Board of such city will cooperate
with the City of Fayetteville in disciplinary action that may
be warranted because of violations of the National Electrical
Code or the local Electrical Code of the City of Fayetteville .
(g) The governing body or its duly authorized representative
of such city has given written notice to the electrical inspector
of the City of Fayetteville that such City will comply with the
conditions prescribed by this paragraph .
