SS ad BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTOSH� TASLTY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : ALMAI{OLLMEYEF CIRCllT CLERK Section 1 . That the City ' s Personnel Policy regarding outside employment is hereby amended to read as follows . Outside Employment - Outside employment shall be allowed if first approved by the head of the department and by the city manager . However , to avoid the possibility of city employees using their positions for a purpose that is , or gives the appearance of being , motivated by a desire for private gain for themselves or others , particularly those with whom they have family , business , or other ties , no outside employment shall be approved if such employment would require or induce a city employee to disclose any information ac - quired by reason of city employment which information is declared by law or regulation to be confidential . No city employee shall disclose any such information gained by reason of city employment , nor shall a city employee otherwise use such information for personal gain or benefit . No city employee shall use city employment to secure special privileges or exemptions for the employee , a spouse or children of the employee , or other persons standing in the first degree of re - lationship , or for those with whom the city employee has a sub - stantial financial relationship , that are not available to others , except as may be otherwise provided by law . When working off - duty , city uniforms shall not be worn unless approved by the head of the department . Section 2 . That the City ' s Personnel Policy regarding political activity is hereby amended to read as follows : Political Activity - City employees shall not be appointed or retained on the basis of their political activity . Employees are expected to exercise their legal right to vote . No city employee shall be a candidate for city political or for county political office while in the employment of the City . No city employee shall actively participate in the campaign of any candidate for municipal office . No city employee shall solicit or accept campaign donations on behalf of any candidate for municipal office . Any person who leaves City employment to seek a political position shall not be eligible for reappointment as a city employee for a period of one year . Section 3 . That all ordinances or resolutions , or parts thereof , in conflict herewith are hereby repealed . lays .
