" 45q330 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 21- 28 AND 21- 28 . 1 OF THE FAYETTEVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO AMEND THE DATE ON WHICH WATER BILLS ARE PAYABLE AND TO AMEND THE DATE ON WHICH WATER SERVICE WILL BE TERMINATED FOR NONPAYMENT . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : -4 Section 1 . That Section 21- 28 of the Fa ettev = -.t - y Sl a-e 3 e of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows : y� �, a All bills for water services shall be rendgr.�d= in the net amount due . Water bills are due andF.payab —} on or before the 10th day following the billing ;,3ate = stated on the water bill . Water bills not paid =on �orP _ before the due date shall be considered delinquent and- an additional charge of 108 of the total bill shall bio paid . Section 2 . That Section 21- 28 . 1 ( 1) of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows : ( 1 ) In the event that bills due the City of Fayetteville , Arkansas for water service are not paid on or before the 10th day following the billing date stated on the water bill , notice by mail will be sent to each customer concerned advising him that such bill is due and payable immediately . Should any delinquent bill remain unpaid , service will be discontinued on the 25th day following the billing date stated on the water bill , and the customer ' s deposit will be forfeited in an amount sufficient to cover the gross amount of his due bill . Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that present water service billing arrangements are in immediate need of change to enable the efficient administration of the City ' s Water Department ; that efficient administration of the Water Department is necessary for the City to provide adequate water service to its citizens ; and that the passage of this ordinance is necessary to amend the present water service billing arrangements . Therefore , an emergency is hereby de- clared to exist , and this ordinance being necessary for the public health , safety and welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage .
