Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance 2325 L) ORDINANCE NO 1 ' "� (^ a3as� _ t ' � � 3.1 ��4 -I 77 APR 18 Pn 2: IS AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8 - 6 OF THE FAYE EVILLE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO AMEND THE PROVISIONS APPLICA HUWr',(IttbulTr ELECTRICAL EXAMINING BOARD , ARKANSAS ACIRr rK' OL (.� E } Eif BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITYCbFViJK FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS : Section 1 , That Section 8 - 6 of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows : ( 1 ) An Examining Board is hereby created to act on all applications for electricians licenses , to administer ex- aminations for licenses and perform other related duties as may be required by the Electrical Code of the City . Members of the Board shall be appointed by the Board of Directors . Vacancies shall be filled by the Board of Directors for the unexpired term of the member affected . ( a) Members . The Electrical Examining Board shall be composed of three active members and two alternate members as follows : ( 1 ) Active Electrical Examining Board members : ( a) A city licensed master electrician . (b ) A person who is at least a city licensed journeyman electrician . ( c ) The City Electrical Inspector . ( 2 ) Alternate Electrical Examining Board members : ( a) A city licensed master electrician . ( b ) A person who is at least a city licensed journeyman electrician . ( b ) Terms . Members of the Examining Board , other than the City Electrical Inspector , shall be appointed for a period of two years ; provided , one of the active electricians and one of the alternate electricians initially appointed under this section shall be appointed for a term of seventeen months and the other active and alternate electricians shall be appointed for an initial term of twenty-nine months . There - after , appointments shall be for a period of two years . ( c ) Meetings . Meetings shall be held at the call of the Chairman or at the call of a majority of the Board . ( d) Supplies . The City shall secure necessary material , equipment and supplies as required by the Board from the re- ceipts collected with applications for examination , and the Inspector shall be in charge of said equipment and supplies . Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that the provisions applicable to the City ' s Electrical Examining Board are in need of amendment to enable the efficient functioning of said Board ; that the efficient functioning of the Electrical Examining Board is necessary to insure that only qualified persons perform electrical work within the City ; and that the passage of this ordinance is necessary to accomplish the required amendment .
