BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF kNIiJ�/��'
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :

Section 1 . That the first sentence in Section 17B - 11 ( 1 )
of the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to
read as follows :
( 1 ) Wall signs shall not project more than eighteen
( 18 ) inches from the surface upon which they are mounted ;
provided , the upper edge of a wall sign mounted on a mansard
roof may project more than eighteen ( 18 ) inches so long as
the sign is perpendicular to the ground .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed .
Section 3 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
the present regulations applicable to wall signs should be changed
to facilitate the effective enforcement of the city ' s sign
ordinance , which enforcement is hereby found to be necessary for
the preservation of the public health , safety and welfare ; and
the Board of Directors hereby determines that the passage of this
ordinance is necessary to make said changes . Therefore , an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being
necessary for the preservation of the public health , safety and
welfare shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage .
