BOATING , AND PICNICKING AT LAKE FAYETTEVILLE AND L hhPPik IWAH .

FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That the following regulations shall apply to
all fishing , boating , and picnicking at Lake Fayetteville and
Lake Sequoyah :
( a ) Hours . Lake Fayetteville and Lake Sequoyah shall
be open to the general public throughout the year from
sunrise to sunset daily and shall be closed each day
from sunset to sunrise .
(b ) Permits for fishing and boatin Each person 16
years o age or older s a 1 e required to purchase
a permit from the Lake Caretaker prior to fishing or
boating on Lake Fayetteville or 'Lake Sequoyah or on any
stream within city owned lake property and shall be
required to pay the permit fees hereinafter prescribed .
Boating permits shall apply to the boat , and not to
the occupants thereof . All daily permits shall be valid
during the day of purchase only
Permit fees :
Season Fishing Permit- $ 10 . 00 per individual for each lake .
Season Boating Permit- $ 10 . 00 per boat on each lake .
Season Fishing Permit- $ 15 . 00 per individual on both lakes .
Season Boating Permit- $ 15 . 00 per boat for both lakes .
Daily Fishing Permits - $ . 50 per individual for each lake .
Daily Boating Permits - $ . 50 per boat for each lake .
( c ) Boat docking . Boat docking shall be permitted at
Lake Fayetteville and Lake Sequoyah on a space available
basis at a rate of $ 20 . 00 annually per boat for each lake .
(d ) Fishing . Ail fishing shall be done only from the
lake am from a boat . No wading or swimming shall
be permitted . All persons , including persons under 16
years of age , shall sign the daily register located in
the Lake Office before fishing . Limits and size of fish
shall conform to state laws . All persons under 16 years
of age , even though not required to purchase a fishing
permit , shall comply in all respects with the rules and
regulations prescribed herein .
( e ) Boating . All persons shall sign the daily register
locatetthe Lake Office before using any boat on Lake
Fayetteville or Lake Sequoyah . A boating permit for each
boat must be purchased before its use on the lake . All
boats shall be docked at the boat landing at lake closing
time . No boats except those used by lake employees shall
be docked at any other location on the lake .
In the event motors are used on boats , no boat shall be
operated in such a manner as to draw heavy waves and erode
the shore line . No boat shall be operated in such a manner
as to endanger other boats or the occupants thereof . Speeding
and boat racing shall be prohibited . The Lake Caretaker is
hereby authorized to revoke the boating permit of any person
who violates these regulations .

No house boats shall be permitted on either lake at any
time . The City of Fayetteville shall not be responsible
for any damage or theft of boats , motors , or any equip-
ment left in boats or at docks . All state laws governing
boats shall be complied with before a boat may be used on
either lake .
( f ) Place of entry . All persons shall enter the lake
for boating or fishing through the entrance at the Lake
Office only . Persons entering the lake from any other
location shall be considered trespassing and be subject to
prosecution .
( g ) Picnicking and other recreational activity . Picnicking
or other recreational activity shall be permitted on any
part of Lake Fayetteville and Lake Sequoyah or the land
surrounding the lakes which is controlled by the City of
Fayetteville . Such activities shall be permitted each
day until lake closing time . Overnight camping shall be
allowed only by special group permit issued by the Lake
Caretaker .
( h ) Littering . No person shall throw any refuse , trash ,
or other materials into the lakes or upon the land
surrounding the lakes .
( i ) Intake towers . No person shall climb upon , enter ,
or fish from the intake towers of the lakes .
( j ) Fishing on stream below dam . Fishing permits shall
be required to fish on any stream on city property below
the dams . All persons fishing on said streams shall com-
ply with state laws governing fishing below dams .
( k ) Firearms and hunting . No firearms or hunting shall
be permitted on city owned property at any time .
( 1 ) Use of motor vehicles . No person at Lake Fayetteville
or Lake Sequoyah shall drive a motor vehicle or ride a motorcycle
or bicycle on other than a paved vehicular road or path
designated for that purpose .
( m) Revoking permits . "The City of Fayetteville shall
have the right to revoke any permit issued under these
regulations if it determines that the permittee wilfully
violated any of these rules and regulations . When a
permit ' is revoked , no refund shall be due the permittee .
Section 2 . Any person violating any provision of this ordinance
shall be guilty ' 6f a misdemeanor 'and shall be punished by a fine
of not more- than $ 500 . 00 .
Section 3 . That all ordinances , resolutions , and rules and
regulations in conflict herewith are hereby repealed .
