MAKE WITHOUT FOLLOWING COMPETITIVE BIDDING PROCEDURES ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Sec . 2 - 67 of the Fayetteville Code of
�1 Ordinances is hereby amended to read as follows :
Sec . 2- 67 . Purchases not in excess of $ 2 , 500 .
ecV3 All such purchases not in excess of $ 2 , 500 shall be
made by the City Manager , or his duly authorized representa-
tive , after the securing and recording of quotation bids
therefor ,
Section 2 . That the first paragraph of Section 2 - 68 of
the Fayetteville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended to read
as follows :
Sec . 2 - 68 . Purchases in excess of $ 2 , 500 .
All such purchases in excess of $ 2 , 500 shall be made
after the following procedures have been complied with ,
provided however , that the Board of Directors may waive
such procedures in exceptional situations where such
procedures are not feasible :
Section 3 . The board of directors hereby determines that
the present purchasing procedures of the City are unduly time
consuming and hinder the effective administration of local
government and hereby determines that the passage of this
ordinance is necessary to alleviate said condition . Therefor ,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance
being necessary for the public health , safety , and welfare shall
be in full force and effect from and after itspassage .
