AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINAN E ')(W+4TO SPECIFY THE WATER RATE TO BE PAID BY PROPERT �RI�WN(@' '; IEXING

WHEREAS , the City of Fayetteville has constructed water
line extensions outside the corporate limits to serve residents
within the city ' s 1975 designated Growth Area ; and
WHEREAS , the city has adopted a water rate structure whereby
the cost of said water line extensions will be borne by the resi-
dents of .the city ' s 1975 designated Growth Area and not by water
consumers within the city ' s present corporate limits ; and
WHEREAS , it is forseeable that property owners within the
city ' s 1975 designated Growth Area will annex to the city at a
future date ; and
WHEREAS , the Board of Directors has determined that future
annexation should not relieve any residents of the city ' s 1975
designated Growth Area from paying a portion of the aforesaid
water line extension costs .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Section 3 of Ordinance Number 2144 is hereby
amended to read as follows :
The water rates and monthly meter service charges
prescribed by this chapter for water customers outside
the city ' s corporate limits shall be applicable to present
or future water customers of the 1975- 1976 Growth Area
water system hereafter annexing into the city until
October 1 , 2000 .
Section 2 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the time provided by law .
