BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITYr'OP'
FAYETTEVILLE , ARKANSAS :
Section 1 . That Article VIII of Chapter 19 of the Fayette -
ville Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by adding Subsection
( c ) to read as follows :
( c ) Any person who drives a vehicle in such a
manner as to indicate a disregard for the safety of
persons or property shall be guilty of careless driving .
Section 2 . The Board of Directors hereby determines that
neither state statutes nor local ordinances prohibit the care -
less driving of vehicles and that such driving of vehicles
poses a real and substantial danger to the health and wellbeing
of the citizens of the city . Therefore , an emergency is hereby
declared to exist , and this ordinance being necessary for the
public health , safety , and welfare , shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage .
